"I was born in August 1938 & was blessed with a wonderful childhood and initial 4-year teen age period having amazing dedicated and loving parents, brothers, family and friends. Daily life was immersed in numerous activities involving, amongst others, appreciation of cultural subjects, healthy diet and in sport such as swimming.
However, my life changed dramatically in July 1954 when I succumbed to the Polio virus epidemic which was rampant worldwide at that time. I consider myself fortunate that the virus mainly affected my lower limbs and only caused minor damage to my upper body. The damage to my lower limbs was sever causing considerable disability which required approximately 2 years of dedicated physiotherapy to enable me to walk again unaided by crutches.
Unfortunately, I never regained the ability to run or get up from a sitting position without using my arms.
I faced my future life with a positive resolve to deal with my new reality and subsequently got married and had three children and had a fulfilling career as a textile technologist.
In July 2020 I was rushed to hospital and had emergency surgery due to a burst appendicitis and thankfully I survived from a “touch and go” situation as declared by my magnificent surgeon and his team. My recovery was slow but significantly enhanced by the energy healing administered by my daughter Simone over regular sessions and who has stood by me since the operation 4 years ago.
Simone’s energy healing has become a constant part of my daily life to deal with a wide variety of physical conditions which I may happen to experience. For example, shoulder and upper arm pain due to bicep rupture due to a tear in the tendons. This condition, in my case, is mostly due to the fact that I have been using crutches again for some time and the resultant damage to my shoulders which are not designed for walking.
